1. Withdraw/Avoid – retreat from conflict situation, postpone the issue. Much of not known and currently the time to research and resolve the conflict is not available.
2. Smooth/Accommodate – emphasize areas of agreement. Concede position to maintain harmony and relationship. During the meeting, a problem developed and the group dive into a discussion. The problem was not truly resolved.
3. Compromise/Reconcile – search for solutions that bring some degree of satisfaction to everyone. Temporary or partially to resolve the conflict through compromise. It was in a kick off meeting. 4. Force/Direct – pursue your viewpoint at the expense of others. Offers only win / loss solutions. Two team members are arguing, the project manager tell them what to do and ask them to collaborate right away.
5. Collaboration/Problem solving – incorporate multiple view point. Enable corporative attitude and open dialog to reach consensus and commitment. The generate the most lasting solution.
